Give Thanks First

Happy Monday!

Yesterday we were in Matthew 14 where Jesus fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread and two fish – 5&2. There was a large crowd present that had heard that Jesus had come to town! They came out in droves for his healing and to hear his teaching. When it was time to eat, 5&2 was all the food that could be found for all these people which is said to be over 5,000. The miracle of this passage is that everyone was fed with the 5&2. What jumps out at me is that step one was to Give Thanks! Jesus gave thanks for the 5&2 and God multiplied it so that they had MORE than was needed. Here’s my TAKEAWAY: We need to offer thanks to God for all that we have. Many times we feel that what we have is NOT enough – not good enough, big enough, pretty enough, smart enough, or just plain the numbers don’t add up enough! I submit to you today that when we Give Thanks for what we have and surrender it to God he makes sure we have what we need. So where do you need a multiplicative miracle in your life? I’m not just talking about money. Let’s think outside the box! Would you offer whatever it is to God and ask him to bless it? May God above supply all of your needs today. You are loved! Be at peace today. See scripture below!

We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
