Lessons From the Lion’s Den

I recently heard a sermon from Daniel chapter 6 wherein Daniel, a servant of God was thrown in the lion’s den. This story is still resonating with me today and I thought I’d share a couple takeaways. 1) A lion’s den is a place of total dependency on God. In these situations we must pray and trust God to work things out. These situations are faith builders. 2) God is there, even in the lion’s den. He hears our prayers. You are never far from His sight, no matter where you are. 3) In this ever more hostile environment for believers, we must stay true to the word of God and all that we believe in, regardless of social/political pressures to do otherwise. When we do so, we will surely bring glory to His name as Daniel did. 4) When God is for you, it doesn’t matter whose against you! He opens doors no man can shut and closes doors no man can open. He is simply EVERYTHING! There’s nobody greater.

So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you! -Daniel‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I invite you to read Daniel 6 at your leisure. So let me ask. Are you in the lion’s den today? If so, you are not alone. The same God who saved Daniel lives and saves STILL! Would you turn to him in prayer and ask him to deliver you? He is able! May the Lord bring you out without a scratch today. May your deliverance cause many to give God glory. Be blessed my friends
