If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – I John 1:8-9, ESV
Everyone has sinned.
When we confess our sin to God, He is faithful and will forgive us.
The crux of the matter is having our hearts and minds softened enough to realize that we have sinned and that we need forgiveness.
This doesn’t happen just once. It’s a continual battle.
We sin in word, deed, or thought daily.
One of the worst things I see in the church today is self-righteousness in the people of God.
Manu have forgotten that they have and do sin, still.
The Apoarle Paul in 1 Timothy said that he was once the foremost of sinners. He was so humble.
With all the accomplishments he had made, he still was grateful to God and gave God all the honor and glory for everything.
He gave God credit for everything.
He knew that it was in God and through God and with God that he was able to do all the things he had done.
I pray that I remain humble and aware of my own sin and the grace that has been extended to me.
I pray that when I realize I am wrong, I move quickly to make things right with God.
Father, teach me to quickly confess my sins and seek forgiveness in you. Help me to then extend the grace and forgiveness I have received to others, when they sincerely make amends to me. Amen
