The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23

In our bible study group last week we discussed the Psalms. Psalms are songs of praise, confessions, and calls for deliverance to name a few. What’s your favorite? Mine is Psalm 23. Here is a portion with my spin on it.

The Lord is my Shepherd (Caregiver). I shall not want (He’s a Provider). He makes me lie down green pastures (Rest). He restores my soul (Restorer). Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…I fear no evil, for He is with me (Protector!). He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies (Favor). He anoints , me with oil (Blessings). Surely goodness and mercy shall fallow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever (Eternal Rest)!

Be blessed today.  Look to the Psalms when you want to send up a praise to our God, when you want to ask for protection, or when you want to simply express your feelings to our Father.
